The 2011 Western Canada Summer Games Society has chosen PacificSport Interior BC to be a recipient of one of the Western Canada Games Legacies.
PacificSport Interior BC will receive $50,000 for coach certification support throughout the region. “We are thrilled to be able to offer support to all coaches so they can continue their professional development”, says 2011 WCSG President Henry Pejril. “We have had an outstanding partnership with PacificSport for many multi-sport games with collaboration and expertise”, continues Pejril.
The fund will be set up for anyone who wishes to take a NCCP Coaching Course and will be reimbursed upon completion of the course. This is a timely announcement with BC Coaches Week September 15-23 and Laura Watson, Executive Director agrees. The injection of financial support will help any person wanting to advance their knowledge in coach education. PacificSport will also assist the Provincial Sport Organizations and Local Sport Organizations wishing to have any NCCP Courses in the Interior BC region with this funding.
Ron McColl, PacificSport Interior BC Chair states “the development of qualified coaches is a foundational principal of PacificSport and the legacy funds for coach education will benefit the coaches in the region for many years.”
